This is not a casual easy hike like I’m used to. Fossil springs trail(bob bear) seems not nearly as difficult. You have to push it to get here. The torture hike is numbed by a serene oak forest with a nice creek trickling down the whole way. I love it here. Made it almost to the ruins but my legs were shaky and was getting dark.defeated 😢

Forest roads were in nice condition to point trail, which had 20 cars or so in the lot. This trail is short, steep , and really cool. Ferngully. A huge tree snapped and fell on our way down making a wicked noise in the canyon. Once down we hiked upstream to a sweet campsite across from a little spring coming out of the wall across the creek. In this spot a Neal nice trail appears, but not sure for how long. This is one of the coolest spots if ever been to. Totally thick with huge trees .the steep hike up isn’t too bad but I didn’t have a heavy pack. Saw a lady with bare feet hiking down on the way out, wearing a church dress.👏. I can’t wait to get back here , all my other summer hikes are now on hold until I spend more time down here. Couldn’t figure out how to post photos, maybe next time
