I was so proud that I pushed my way up to the saddle in good time and was taken back because I had to go down again. On your way up to the saddle you are on the North side and you make your way down again the south side of the mountain on a pretty strait down area that drops 250 feet. You turn and start going back up again.
Once again you start to ascend into an area call the bowl. Looks like a huge bowl. Almost there.
Once I got to the top the views were great I took some picks. There is the main peak and then a trail the cuts off over to a smaller peak that looks to the north. On my way back down I swung by that north peek before a went down. I was blessed by a couple of turkey vultures out sunning themselves on the rocks. From the poop on the rocks I gathered that they sit up there a lot and keep an eye out for prey. They were not shy and let me get pretty close so that I could take some camera shots of them. How nice, that was the icing on the cake. Great day, Great hike, beautiful view. Must do. |
