Entering from Riggs Road has a heavy sandy wash do not recommend for anything other than a 4x4. Yes I am a goofball and took my motorcycle into this place knowing that there was going to be sandy roads only got stuck once. Dirt roads in this area are very soft and can get stuck easy so plan for it even in a 4x4. There are further south entries that may be better entry points than this one. The weather was clear and great through the drive in and hiking up the trail had such an amazing breeze all the way to the top. Most of the trail is full sun but some parts are around smaller peaks that provide a little shade in the morning or afternoon. Majority of the trail is a little of a high grade but clear and easy to hike. Closing in on the top you will reach boulders and rocky parts of the trails that are not easy marked but fellow hikers have left markers easy to follow so look out for those. This hike shows great views of the mountains south of the Estrellas but when you reach the top you see phoenix in such a great view. I would love to hike this next time at sunset and to catch the south mountain lights along with the sunset. Once at the top also there is a little hidden box be kind and keep it going thank you to who ever started it was fun to find it.

White tanks only opens at 6am if planning for a sunrise hike you may have to start from the gate but Goat Canyon Trail is not that much more of a walk. Trails are marked very well in White tanks but once you get to the wash its off trail and on your own but its not to difficult. Furthest west point of the Goat Canyon Trail you enter the wash straight through until you reach the service road. The service road winds to a few different viewing spots that are amazing. This service road hits various locations from Verrado up to Barry Goldwater. Other service roads also lead to other high peaks phone usage is available 60% -70% of the trail. When reaching near the top stay to your left on the service road and follow to the top.

Four Peaks is always a great place to visit. Dirt Roads are easy managed most vehicles can clear this but any dirt road recommend 4x4. The trip you can enter via Beeline 87 or Roosevelt lake 188 to get to this hiking point. There are 2 paths to take. a long 12 mile hike around left or a shorter to the right heading to the saddle reaching 4peaks and browns peak. Along the route you will see a rock that reminds me of SNOOPY. This hike is very easy going through trees and clear path to the saddle. Easy grade very nice views of the lake and mountains around. Once to the top of the saddle you can try to make your way to the top of the Browns peak heavy bushes and trees or Rocky steep grade to 4 peaks top. You can see phoenix from his point in the distance and how small the little mountains of phoenix really are. 4 Peaks recommend to be ready for steep grade heavy rocks to the top.

On this day I went to the peak when it had 2 inches of snow and was beautiful not to cold as it was sunny all day. The Trail is even more beautiful in the snow. The wind shapes the snow ice around the trees flowers and bushes makes it look so beautiful. The Trails are visible in a clean clear coat of snow no one visited this trail this day to the top and was not muddy at this time as the ground was still cold and hard. Only tracks on the trails were rabbit skunk coyote and possibly deer. I wanted to reach the top of the peaks but rocks were slippery and icy I do not recommend without proper gear and shoes in this wet snow. I stayed in the saddle and on the lower browns peak this time. Still great views of everything all around. Planning on going again in the spring always beautiful and full of nature.
