Started on the north side after parking at north 56th st. Scrambled up to mummy observatory before getting onto the route guide route. I did not do the entire mummy lode, I stuck to the ridge line and did an out and back to mummy mountain.

I really enjoyed the hike, even though it is slow going. It is 95% off trail, lots of class 2 scrambling with a few class 3 sections. There is fairly minimal bushwhacking on the official route. The only low point was towards the end of the day I slipped on some loose rock and sprained one of my fingers.

I would definitely consider doing this one again!

Dixie Peak 2,429 - Phoenix Preserves

Wanted to bag Peak 2306, a peak ~500M north of Dixie/Two Bit Peak in the Phoenix preserve. Left the 40th st trailhead at 6:20 am and hiked to Dixie peak. From there, went north along the ridge. There is a social trail for the first ~100M, then it is all class 2/3 scramble along the ridge for the next 400M. The west side of the ridge tends to be easier/less exposed. Took me about an hour to go from Dixie Peak to Peak 2306 and back.
