Hot, very little shade. Packed in 10L, 6L for late afternoon hiking to Miner’s Needle where we camped night 1. Refilled another 10L at Charlebois, camped a couple miles further. Hiked up to Fremont saddle and camped at lone pine for night 3, then down in about an hour and a half next morning. Ran into a couple angry rattlesnakes, but they were off the trail by mid-morning once it warmed up a bit. Only water we saw was at Charlebois.

Quick day hike. Not too crowded midday during the week. Recent rain had filled in a few pools at the bottom of the slot, so you had to get creative to get around them. Some scrambling required, but no areas where falls would be incredibly high-consequence. Water at the end at the colorado, but the hike is short enough there is no issue bringing it in. It was pretty warm so we drank about 2 liters each. There was a sign that there was a cougar sighting on the trail the day prior, but we saw no wildlife.
