Humphreys Summit Loop via Weatherford/Kachina

Post by hikeaz »

This Saturday, June 19th, a group of us are heading up the Weatherford Trail from Schultz Pass to the summit, returning down the Snow Bowl and Kachina Trails to Schultz Pass. This is a 20+ mile loop. Anyone interested in joining us may PM or email me for details. We'll be camping near the T/H Friday night and likely we'll head out about 7AM-ish from the T/H.

How did that hike go I am imterested this year in giving it a go but am thinking about making it a backpack either staying at Doyle then topping out in morning and coming back to Snowbowl and Kachina
Any opinion?

We have done this hike a few times - this last time we finished the night before the big fire.
A backpack could be fun, but of course you'd need to schlep water unless there was still some snow around.
Going counter-clockwise allows a refill of water (or even BEER*) @ Snowbowl on day 2 (*- if it's a weekend).
