Re: 430+ Doing R2R Last Saturday

Outrageously dwindled from 2013 or 2.8 billion before 5am? Ranger Elyssa brought up some interesting points about this type of activity during a chat before the condor talk at IG ... though she was talking about the relatively normal R2R2R. She said that so many people are now trying to run the R2R2...

If you go, let us know what you find out Indeed. I looked earlier, and can only fathom that milege is down through the Rincon which is the same district? I tried calling. Only a loop recording to call 911 for emergencies and check online for info. The last news release on Oct 2nd links to a Sept 17...

Re: Have you lost or almost lost your GPS?

Bruce & I ran the exact same model Garmin Oregon 450t, same settings and had variances up to 10%. My Garmin Fenix never matched my Garmin Oregon. In all fairness, I did not try putting my Oregon on my wrist nor my Fenix in my pocket. There are a plethora of variables involved. Phones used as cameras...

@LosDosSloFolks
Enjoy your Garmin. My 450t still sits in a drawer because it's one of the few electronic devices to survive the outdoors. If your results differ you might hook up with @kingsnake, I think he has an annual video where he beats an innocent Garmin to a pulp.

Re: Where were you??

On day 2 of a vacation. Stayed home all week and worked on a time-consuming 4-year 9-month hobby. Remember it in the background on TV, then the awakening when the second? hit as they were covering the story.

The share option is on most everything on the internet. On HAZ photos, share typically shows after the page scrolls. Sharing is enabled by default.

@Four_Arrows
If you're an experienced avid-backpacker with a support team, the passages are short enough to make do with little on-trail water.

Others undoubtedly know the dynamics of the current situation better than me, but I wouldn't hesitate.

@chumley
The never-ending standardization of articles on the web decided stub entries must have a valid date. 2018-07-14 was a quick fix to silence that nag on hundreds of stubs. Bottom of the page says page created by chumley on Feb 16 2015 9:57 am. I checked the archives. No edits.
