What belongs on a peak or overlook?

Oh boy another moderated topic with zero chance for an agreeable logic solution :y: Please Note: Ignore this Topic option near top of this page When I started hiking I stumbled onto mankind's desire to leave a trace. Re: back pack question??

@Nighthiker
Kelty has a small selection of accessories. Be sure to read the comments about the sternum strap in the comments on shoulder straps. Might also salvage parts off a used pack on eBay, at Goodwill or etc.

Re: What's Your Favorite Color

Anybody should be allowed to post anything and th...

I recently posted a comment on a HAZ members triplog that may or may not have been the impetus for the start of this discussion. The comment seemed polite, potentially helpful and vo...

Should ruins or caves on public land be secrets?

When I started hiking I was surprised to find sharing some public locations was frowned upon. That's putting it lightly. Rather a virtual knock on the door by the concerned. More times than not I was told what I was allowed to do on public land. My thinking was and is that scaring folks away is a st...

Re: February Backpacking

[ Galiuro :: map ] for reference. Personally I wouldn't consider those trails novice friendly like the Western Superstitions or Catalinas but it is an idea for chilly February backpacking.

Hiking Group Size Limit & Popular Destination Control

What irritates you about Large Groups? When I started hiking I was a bit surprised to find a layer of borderline hate for fellow hikers. I recall streams of hikers in large groups in the Catalinas, https://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=13, maybe one other. A few seriously impolite large groups ev...
