About an hour from the turnoff.
Thought the west was 15 min more + more miles, the trade-off is less nerve-wracking, but I couldn't find where I jotted that down.

Wednesday Night: Showers, mainly after 11pm. Low around 55. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New...

Re: 2021 Hazolutions
Started 2020 meeting a few new-to-me HAZ members out of appreciation on Pam's New Years' hike. I'm not a social butterfly but enjoyed the group hike. Posted several needed HAZ Guides. Up for grabs, in my range, were trails near Dewey-Humboldt. Along with some Skyline Park hikes, all netted more posi...

KwaiChang was up Piano Alley on a multiday trip in 2014. If conditioning is on par and route-finding savvy, Pyramid seems attempt worthy.SpiderLegs wrote:Look up "Piano Alley"

Re: Cheops Pyramid 5206
I would not recommend either as introductory off-trail navigation and even less if solo. Aside from physical conditioning both have serious mental struggles. Bataan Death March up North Kaibab isn't screaming Cheops. Sorry, just looking out for your safety. You have some great triplogs, just been a ...

Tough getting out of Wide World of Maps without purchasing a necessity. However, looks like your nearest Tempe store does not carry topos.

Re: Cheops Pyramid 5206
Glad you weren't contemplating the pre-edit  Utah Flats is middle & below view in the edit or blends in. It's not really a concern. The eastern slope of Cheops in view is the common approach. Most hike low near the edge. It gets old and potentially one bad step from a bad day/life in a couple o...

Utah Flats is lower-right but it is mostly out of view in that photo.
Personally, I'd avoid the bridge.

We hiked high up on the west and low on the east [ gps route ]

Outrageously dwindled from 2013 or 2.8 billion before 5am? Ranger Elyssa brought up some interesting points about this type of activity during a chat before the condor talk at IG ... though she was talking about the relatively normal R2R2R. She said that so many people are now trying to run the R2R2...

If you go, let us know what you find out Indeed. I looked earlier, and can only fathom that milege is down through the Rincon which is the same district? I tried calling. Only a loop recording to call 911 for emergencies and check online for info. The last news release on Oct 2nd links to a Sept 17...

Bruce & I ran the exact same model Garmin Oregon 450t, same settings and had variances up to 10%. My Garmin Fenix never matched my Garmin Oregon. In all fairness, I did not try putting my Oregon on my wrist nor my Fenix in my pocket. There are a plethora of variables involved. Phones used as cameras...
