First Water Creek

Post by schulz »

I'm going to First water creek (south of canyon lake) next weekend, and I was wondering if anybody has been there recently and could tell me if there was any water in the creek.

thanks,

I imagine you can find isolated pools but the entire creek is definitely not wet right now.

Sounds like you are both saying the same thing: No running creek but pools. IE: If I spent the night I could find water to drink, but don't plan on babbling brooks.

That right? Would love to hear recent eyewitness reports.

If you travel far enough north you will find a very very very large pool of water and it is definitely a swimmer! :scared:

@schulz

I was in that area on Friday... you'll find water for sure (though it might taste like my dog's feet) :D

I can corroborate as of yesterday. Certain places in that area of FW canyon where it is a gravel bed you may not see surface water, but proceed up or down canyon a short distance to where the bedrock is exposed and it will be there. (Not true in the driest times of course)

First Water, Boulder, West Boulder, East Boulder & Little Boulder are all in a zone that shows 0.75 to 1 inch of rain overnight
