AZT Segment 1 in July
Has anyone or does anyone know anyone who has hiked Segment 1 in mid July? Planning a AZT kickoff for my 50th birthday on July 20th, which I have no control over my birthdate, but that's really what I want to do. Any input?

Re: AZT Segment 1 in July
There's a triplog from the end of August. Temperatures should be the same but there would be less water in early July due to the monsoon not kicking in yet.

@mazatzal
Thanks for adding that. The mobile view doesn't break down by month, and I didn't realize I could scroll down so I didn't see the others!](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

Just be careful not to find yourself in a wash or, God forbid, a slot canyon during monsoon season, or the next time anyone sees you, you might be in the Gulf.
But seriously, be careful. Should be okay up to San Jacinto day, generally.

Maybe she meant El Dia de San Juan? June 24th, the traditional first day of monsoon in the Southwest.blisterfree wrote:San Jacinto day? Is that a Texas thing or a PCT thing or ?
I also looked up San Jacinto Day which turns out to be April 21. It gets hot after April 21, and it rains after June 24. Or thereabouts. The Spaniards had a day for every saint.
