Hi,
I'm getting two days off next week, so I'm willing to drive and want a beautiful day hike to explore, but not sure where is recommended because of all the forest fire restrictions. Something not more than 10 miles and not more than 2 hour drive from Phoenix would be great, but I'm willing to camp out if need be for farther areas. What suggestions do you have? Hoping for some green trees and solitude. I like taking my dog to Parson Springs but thats out with fire restrictions and I'd love to explore somewhere new.
Thanks for recommendations! Sorry if this post has already been discussed.

@nolove923
[ Parsons Trail #144 ] is not currently closed, just Stage II restrictions
fine to hike: refrain the urge to weld, smoke, discharge a firearm or use fire in any form

The walk around Woods Canyon Lake would be good - I wouldn't do it on a weekend though ... but last Tuesday, it was perfect.

You may want to check out this most recent triplog first. This was in the Goodwin fire area last year. -> https://hikearizona.com/x.php?x=154657Woober Goober wrote:[ Grapevine Springs Canyon Trail #4 ]

[ Bell Trail to the Crack - Wet Beaver Creek ]
[ West Clear Creek Trail #17 ] or any of the upper WCC trails, Maxwell, Tramway, or Point.
As mentioned above, everything in the mountains around Prescott is open and all the trails near Sedona are open too. West Fork, etc.
Many of these are the types of places I would normally avoid when seeking solitude, but on a weekday you shouldn't find it to be at all overwhelming.

I don't think Coronado Forest has closed the Mt Lemmon area, yet. I've had my eye on this one:
[ Mount Lemmon / Lemmon Rock Loop ]
Maybe I'll see you out there next week.

@joebartels
I kept looking at trails and it would have the fire restriction warning on top, so I wasn't sure and I appreciate you clarifying that. I'm happy to read these fun suggestions! Everyone here is so helpful and pleasant
