I am prepared to enter the Red Rock Secret Canyon Wilderness with 10 liters of water on my back for 3 days for a 40 lb pack. But I would prefer to not have to do the ultra-heavy thing. Water reports from the north of Sedona area in late Sept. / early October are scarce at best or non-existent. I am somewhat optimistic given the recent carpet bombing of rain through most of AZ with the forming tropical depression over Baja; I do expect to find standing pools - but I don't mess around on multi-day trips in areas that are not known for having reliable springs or perennial creeks.
West Fork reports... a respectful no thank you.
What you found out there in Springtime... no thanks.
My aim is specifically water info on Secret canyon and/or Bear Sign Canyon in the late/post-monsoon period. Please let me know what your experience was if you can. Rangers, I'm sure, will tell us to carry all water in due to their liabilities, so I'm not going to bother much with that. Thanks in advance I know this is a bit of a long shot.
