I see this is designated as a "possible" backpack - has anyone found a good campsite in this canyon? It sounds pretty narrow. Also, I saw that last weekend there was a little bit of water - is it enough for overnight camping, or would we need to pack in water (planning to go this weekend)?
Thanks!

hi renshiwo
The canyon isn't really all that narrow for the majority of it's length. It does have some steep sheer walls. I don't recall on flat spots for camping. There's likely some small stagnant pools at best.
It's a wonderful place. It seems most come looking for Paria narrows or an Aravaipa creek bed yet fail to notice one of the most beautiful sections of desert on earth. It's a great day hike, though I don't know it'd be that grand for backpacking.

Re: White Canyon near Superior - backpack?
Well, I know I am late, but I have backpacked in White Canyon for a short overnighter. Its really rough in there, and I was only able to find one suitable place to pitch a tent. The location is right above the 1st main waterfall (I call it the wave falls). Just to the East side of the falls there is a big boulder that is sorta leaning to the north. This is about the flattest spot in the Canyon. There is a bit of downward slope, but its plenty comfortable for an overnight. The coordinates for this spot are approx 33°10'14.42"N, 111° 5'32.46"W.
Enjoy!
