Escalante &/or Cardenas Buttes

Post by coloradoscott »

Hello all. I'll be at GC the third week of March, with two days for dayhiking before a five day backpack. I was thinking of climbing Escalante &/or Cardenas Buttes from the Tanner Trail and then maybe the Battleship the following day. Has anyone here climbed the estern summits? The Battleship reports are great and I do own Tomasi's book, but any additional beta is welcome.

I climbed the battleship last year, thats pretty straight forward.

Not sure too much about Cardenes or Escalante Butte, sounds fun though, done the Tanner a few times but was always in a hurry to climb the heck out or get down to the river.
