Re: 2010 September - The Photo Issue
I think they put too much emphasis on the macro photos, myself. And I really don't care about the rodeo, either. I don't understand what purpose the rodeo has in Arizona Highways photo contest when you wouldn't see it in a regular article.joe bartels wrote:So aside from fotogirl53's comment no one here reviews Arizona Highways?

ehhh... I flip through it every month so I don't miss the random gem from people like Charles Bowden but its mostly pretty dull.joe bartels wrote:So aside from fotogirl53's comment no one here reviews Arizona Highways?

Re: 2010 September - The Photo Issue
i'll give it a stab
while i know very little about photography, i know what appeals to me
i like the contrast between the blurred motion of the 3rd place indian picture and the crisp, sharp action in the rodeo picture
love the coyote family, with the backlit effect
would like to see the eagle captured with a cleaner background - it would stand out more - still a majestic shot
love the winning photo - a unique way to capture a slot canyon

Re: 2010 September - The Photo Issue
Since I'll be going back here with the photographer in a few months...I thought I'd post a little nostalgia for those who are either new here or never saw this landscape pic from the 2008 contest. The man who is willing to share is Ego. Its the top pic and was the top one in my book.

I looked into submitting that picture. They have all kinds of rules for the submission of digital images. I'm no computer person, so I guess I won't be sending any files to them. I guess they make it a little more difficult than just emailing attached jpgs to keep the riff raff from flooding their offices with images.
