2012 Hazolutions

Post by Tortoise_Hiker »

Hey Hazers,
It's that time again.
Let's hear some of your Hazolutions for 2012.
I am going to try and get out and hike with some more Haz hikers that I haven't hiked with and some more with the old ones too! I also want to do lots of hikes I haven't done yet. Oh yeah, and finish the AZT! 9 passages to go. :y:
Now, how about you? :D

I hope that means I get to hit the trail with the HPP!

I've committed to hiking in the Indian Himalaya in April (eek) - so I've got a lot of butt-kicking prep to do in the spring. Then after that...hmmm...gotta finish the Tonto Trail and hopefully get some higher numbers than I managed this year overall.

Ok. Typical with trips, you often have some shuffling. Also, may be able to get the 11 permit. I should call and find out about that.

Is it too soon to put it up as an event? I don't even know the dates. I should call the BCO first, to see about the big permit.

I normally don't make resolutions, but this year I'm planning on getting my kids out on the trails as much as they can stand to start to learn the area and increase their interest in hiking.

1. 1200 miles
2. explore the superstitions
3. chase personal bests on camelback and piestewa ascents
my goal for 2011 was longer, harder and new hikes; think i'll keep that, too

You kicked some pumpkin in 2011! I look forward to a couple hikes with you next year.
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

1. Start the year with some hiking with my dad when he visits in a couple of weeks as he prepares for his May Inca trail trek. (Had planned to do the Inca Trail with him and some cousins in May, but plans change so I'll have to live vicariously through his photos.)
2. Get as much hiking as I can in the first couple of months
3. Catch baby bart01 upon arrival after supporting Mrs. bart01 through natural childbirth. :D
4. See what the rest of the year has in store. :y: I'd like to think I can get a good backpacking or camping trip in before the end of the year with the new addition. My parents took me canoeing for a week in the boundary waters in Canada when I was 6mo. Might be wishful thinking.

Right on! I did the same thing, three times, and my husband was there, helped coach labor, caught the babies, etc. Great experience! Glad to hear you are opting for that! It's fantastic, especially if you have a good labor coach/midwife helping you.

:D thought about it, but after looking into all manners of carrying opted for a more modern sling type version initially. Can be carried front or back. Doesn't lead to a flat back of the skull. :o :D

I think I saw one of these show up at the door awhile back as mrs bart01 nests and prepares.
