So I was thinking its about time to tackle this beast. I was just reading some triplogs... is it safe to do this time of year? I would assume all the ice and snow towards the peak are melted by now. Also, I drive a little Honda civic (yes as apposed to a big honda civic, right?) would it make it to the TH and... sorry one more, are there any good loops or longer hikes that include this peak?
Thanks for the help guys...

Re: Browns Peak
Okay, so the only experience I have with steep hikes would be Picacho Peak and Vulture Peak. Both of which I feel pretty comfortable with. Does anyone know of a medium between these and Brown's? I imagine Brown's is more of an actual climb?

Re: Browns Peak
Don't really feel like making an event thread at this point, so I'll just bump this one again. Is there anyone interested in doing Brown's this coming up Monday or Tuesday (7th, 8th)? I would hate to have someone make the trek only to have me not summit, but it's not one I want to try alone, at least the first time around. I won't know if I'm ready until I'm actually crawling up the chute.

Re: Browns Peak
Yeah getting up Browns right now would require the full complement of winter gear, and a seriously bad outlook on life. I bet the chute is either full of 10-foot deep drifts or solid ice, or both. It is also possible that the road is gated closed depending on how low the snow goes. It was really low this weekend, but I don't know how much accumulated at the 5000-foot level.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Re: Browns Peak
I wonder how many people make the climb with technical gear each season.
