Bones Near the Barnhardt Trailhead
Anyone else hear about this or have any other information? I did this hike last April and the remains were estimated to be a year old, so I may have passed the departed. I do seem to remember some vultures circling the area.

A few years ago my Federal Agent girlfriend had to hop a helicopter to the North Rim to check out a credible sighting ... wasn't him, obviously, but the guy looked alot like him and had the same distinctive straight-backed posture.

@te_wa
Many guns are not registered, have never been registered, or are sold privately without changing the original registration, none of which possiblities are illegal in Arizona.

Re: Bones Near the Barnhardt Trailhead
It seems like a lead at least. So strange that no connection to missing persons has surfaced.

@Vaporman
great to hear from you
seems unlikely

no need for anyone to fill this thread with speculation eitherThere were men’s clothing still on the skeletal remains, a backpack nearby and a holstered gun, but no identification.
The remains will be sent to the University of South Texas for analysis, including sex, age and possibly cause of death. DNA from the bones will also be put into a nationwide database to see if there are any matches.

Has anyone heard anything about this? I think of it everytime I drive by, which is quite often.

(maybe my 1/4 & 1/7 attempted contacts to the Payson Roundup and to Det. Sgt. Paul Hornung prompted this 1/8/19 article)
