FR516 ( N. Snow Bowl Rd )

Last I saw snowbowl road remains closed and I haven't seen any new press releases indicating it is open. A reminder to anyone thinking about going there this coming holiday weekend. Unless of course something changes.

According to the Coconino NF website, Humphreys Summit Trail #151 is tentatively scheduled to open on June 5: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation

I suppose that Snow Bowl Road will also open then, although the website does not state that it will.

Lockett Meadow Campground is also scheduled to open on that date, so presumably FR 552 (the road to Lockett Meadow CG/Inner Basin) will also be open by then.

While it is not Snow Bowl Rd, FR 552 (Lockett Meadow Rd) is supposed to open on Friday...so that will provide an alternative way to get to Humphreys (check snow on the upper part of the Weatherford Trail though)

It makes for a long day, but Lockett Meadow is my favorite place to start.
