We need more muscles next Saturday!!!

This is an Arizonans Acting to Protect Public Lands project - we love new friends of the wild. Come on out and help restore one awesome trail into pure bliss. =D

Description: I will be setting up camp on Friday and plotting out the temp cairn markers (for those who happen to have Friday free and would like to camp). Saturday volunteers should arrive by 9am at the meeting location, just off of Castle Hot Springs Rd (on Morgan City Wash Rd)---we will carpool / caravan into the TH. We will be building knee-high cairns in small teams along a 3 mile stretch of the Burro Flats Loop trail.

Directions to TH: (Note that I will mark the turnoff with a pink flag b/c it is very easy to pass otherwise)

High Clearance approach:
Follow 17 north from Phoenix to the Carefree Highway, head west to Castle Hot Springs Road, take this north approximately 9.7 miles, then left for another 7 miles. You'll also pass Castle Hot Springs Resort, a historic resort that used to serve the rich and famous - it's an amazing site. After this, the road will stop at a T intersection; turn left ( west ) to continue on Castle Hot Springs Road for another 5 miles or so to an unimproved road on your left. This road is not easy to spot. I will mark it with a pink flag. If you cross the creek on a small cement bridge, you've gone too far and must backtrack about 200 feet. Park here and caravan in to trailhead.

Passenger Car Approach: Do all of the above, except stop and find a place to park at the entrance of the unimproved road. We will carpool you in the rest of the way.

It's best to touch base beforehand to ensure that everyone makes it to the destination, so if you wish to come, call me at 602-531-6145 or email aleahsato@hotmail.com so I can arrange to get you, or anticipate your arrival.

Notes

Please bring gear for overnight camping if you want to stay. Also, please bring long pants and good fitting gloves for rock moving. There is limited water here, so plan on bringing at least 2 liters for the day. I usually have extra, but it's great to have more in vehicles. Again, every trip involves risk, so please be aware of your surroundings and abilities. There are snakes and scorpions here.

I will bring lots of snacks and some sodas/tea. Bring your own lunch.

To reiterate, I will meet everyone at the turnoff onto the 4wd Rd at 9am on Saturday. If you want to come Friday night call me to make arrangements: 602.531.6145 or email me: aleahsato@hotmail.com ---I have room for one or two who can come with me on Friday afternoon to mark the cairn locations.

Is there a trail name or from where to where are you building cairns?
