First off let me say HELLO to everyone,
Ive been prowling HikeAZ for awhile, great place with lots of info! Figured Id better join up and maybe contribute myself. So a big THANX and HELLO to all.
Im starting to plan a trip on the AZT section #30. Ive got a friend in Flagstaff that will shuttle me, Im planning on leaving my vehicle at Marshall Lake and starting from Allan Lake. Im a little worried about leaving my truck there for 3 or 4 days tho. Has anybody had any issues in this area? I lived in Flag for several years and spent time in the area fishing and camping many times with no worries, but that wasnt leaving truck unattended for such a long time. Any input on this and Passage #30 would be much appreciated. THX in advance

Re: AZT - Section 30
This is the kind of question that is tough to answer without jinxing it. That said, with good karma I don't see any reason to have an elevated concern for that area. The Bell Trail, Salome Jug and Algonquin are all know targets. The swimming attraction seems to usher in the results. Marshall seemed more of a family atmosphere than a "bro let's hit up the Jug" on twitter area.
A delightful trail all in all. We saw more elk on the southern end than any other segment thus far. The mid section of this hike is fantastic.

Re: AZT - Section 30
Thanx joe, its almost time for the trip and Im itchin to go. Been studing Topos and actually have your route programed into my GPS for refrence along the way. THANX for that too! Now my only concern is water resources along the way. Double Sprgs. CG is suposed to be reliable and Im hoping that some of the Tanks are full after Monsoon rains. Otherwise its gonna be just Double Sprgs. and a stash at the Hwy crossing. Gonna be able to carry 6L (not happy with that wieght) but thats a long way between refills considering Id like to take sometime to enjoy the hike rather than just bust-it back to the truck.
So if anybody has some up to date reports on Sprgs. and water tanks on this trail, I would be beyond gratefull to hear about em.
THANX, Robert
