Common Names:Black-chinned Hummingbird

Habitat:Mountain Meadows, Woodland Thickets, Chaparral, Orchards. Summers in much of the West, from British Columbia to South Texas. Winters in Mexico.

Description:Small Hummingbird. Male is iridescent green above with iridescent black chin, underlined by a purple throat band. White band below throat almost entirely encircles neck. Female is iridescent green above with white throat, breast and buff sides.
