Hedychium gardnerianum, the Kahili ginger, Kahila garland-lily or ginger lily, is invasive.

Kahili ginger, also known as Himalayan ginger, is commonly found on the Big Island of Hawaii, particularly in areas like Volcano Village and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It's a fragrant plant with yellow or red flowers that can grow up to two meters tall. Kahili ginger is considered an invasive species in Hawaii and can rapidly spread, forming dense mats that outcompete other plants.

Kahili ginger covers most of the rainforest floor in Volcano Village. It is very pretty to see but considered an invasive species. Today kahili ginger is considered an invasive species in Hawaii and it even made it to the ISSG list of 100 worst invasive species if the world.
