a rather pretty closed bridge. The Boy Scout Road Bridge on the southwest side of Seeley Lake, Montana, was permanently closed in 2024 due to structural issues, as it was a deteriorating wooden bridge no longer deemed safe for traffic.
This bridge, which was built in 1937, is mainly used as an access point for campgrounds in the area.
Missoula County plans to replace the bridge, which will cost approximately $14.5 million, and applied for two federal grants in 2024 but did not receive them. Staff met with the Federal Highway Administration to find out how to improve the grant applications and will apply again in 2025.
