Highway 93 is truly a delight to drive. We really enjoyed following the Salmon River between the mountain ranges... definitely matches the sign's claim "scenic". To read the sign, click on Original.
U.S. Route 93 is a major 1,359-mile north–south highway connecting Wickenburg, Arizona, to the Canadian border, passing through Las Vegas, Twin Falls, and Missoula. (ADOT is transforming the 200-mile Arizona stretch into a four-lane highway, with major work between Wickenburg and I-40.)
This highway was known to be one of the deadliest routes in America until recently. The years of improvements have made it a much safer road to travel, according to the Federal Highway Administration. WE used to have a saying in Montana, "I drive 93, pray for me".
