You can barely make out where these hikers are in the big photo (just at that bare spot) so I zoomed in a little. There is a sign at the intersection with Swiftcurrent Trail and the Lookout that specifically says you will be fined if you leave your pack. Not only did these four leave their packs stashed in some trees; they didn't even hang them off the ground. But you know how it is, the rules don't apply to everyone. We knew the Ranger was coming up but he didn't get up until later in the morning.
