July 2003: Two hours later, at 6:45 p.m., the Trapper fire makes a run for the Granite Park Chalet and the Loop. Going-to-the-Sun Road is closed and 41 people are trapped at the chalet for the night. There are also concerns that the fire will spread east over Swiftcurrent Pass toward the Many Glacier Valley (that is where we are looking in this photo).
