I'm now on Highway 20 heading east. The burros got my attention as it's a pretty cool sign. And you know me, after further research I found out this is a drive you can take on the Old Spanish Trail (1200 miles from LA to Santa Fe) via Upper Bear Valley Road in Lower Bear Valley. There are two valleys you go through when crossing on Highway 20. Lower Bear Valley is closest to Highway 89.

UT 20 is partially aligned over the route of the Old Spanish Trail and incorporated even more of it when it was aligned to US Route 91 pre-1947 to Paragonah via Upper Bear Valley Road and Little Creek Canyon Road. In the late 1930s the original UT 90 connected from UT 20 in Little Bear Valley northwest to US Route 91. The original UT 90 was consolidated into a realigned US 20 in 1947 when the latter's original alignment west of Little Bear Valley to Paragonah. This realignment in 1947 formed the basis for modern UT 20. http://www.gribblenation.org/2021/04/ut ... te-20.html
