| partners | | Thanks again to HAZ-chumley for first sharing this excellent day hike or beginner backpack find via his 6/13 triplog and pic set. For me, a new Mogollon Rim-Cabin Loop area to explore and the timing was perfect for a planned camping/hiking trip to this area the very next week. After gpsjoe, Marland, and Tom had a chance to also view chumley's posts, no convincing was required. All we needed to do was just pick a day for our planned day hike! 
The upper end (my recommended TH Start) of this canyon is very easy to access and navigate down to with only a small section of "off trail" to reach the lush, green, large meadow-like canyon area at the upper most end. Our pic sets will hopefully confirm the beauty and peaceful solitude of this easy hike (first down canyon, then back up). It's kind-of like hiking on a manicured golf course without all the golfers, the flag poles and greens, and no 19th hole!
This hike has a lot to offer:
.. easy access (one can start at my recommended upper canyon-south entrance or start further up FR137 at the lower canyon-north entrance area at the Buck Spring Cabin Complex);
.. hiking between a high of 7730'to a low of only 7480'(great for a summer PHX/Tucson escape;
.. in-around-beside a lush, green, health forest area of pines, spruce, sycamore, with a large spur road section of big tooth maple trees;
.. two perennial springs to hike to: Upper and Lower Buck Spring;
.. an old spur logging road-pathway just off the main canyon hiking route that offers a huge stand of Big Tooth Maple Trees (think autumn here!);
..water drainage's at numerous locations within the canyon hiking area;
..historic Buck Spring Cabin Complex and damned water area to visit and meander-around at the north end of this canyon hike;
..easy access and connection to one of the five main Mogollon Rim Cabin Loop trails- the Barbershop TR#91(at east end TH Start);
..excellent hiking area for all, including kids, mom and dad, grandmother and grandfather;
