Today was the day and after studying the area on google earth, I thought I could make a nice offtrail loop out of it by hiking from one cattle tank to another (Ledford Tank). Started from the pulloff just before the curve up 366 I hiked down to John's dam and then up along the flume to Goat Tank. From here I climbed up onto & along the mesa (4142) and down to Ledford Tank my destination for this trip. Cattle trails brought me back to 366 and I walked it back to my truck to complete the loop. This was an entire offtrail hike but by following the flume, drainages & cattle trails it felt like an established trail. Very rewarding hike and I'll be back to add a couple more destinations to this one! |
