For most of the way to Angel Basin the trail is well shaded , but bring some insect repellant because the Gnats can be Gnarly! The trail follows a beautiful seasonal stream all the way to the dwellings and a little further on to Angel Basin.
The Dwellings are awesome, and there is no doubt as to why those Indians chose this location - what a little slice of Heaven. But I'll move on to Angel Basin since the description above has plenty of pics and info on the ruins.
About a half mile further down Rogers Canyon it opens up & into beautiful Angel Basin. At the center of the basin you will see the intersection with Frog Tanks Trail. This is an outstanding area for a picnic or overnight camp.
From here I would recommend returning by the same route. I did it as a loop hike connecting with the JF Trail, which I didn't particularly care for. |
