Took my 11 year old daughter...she did great...
A must do if you're at Zion...
Very crowded (as usual I suspect)...and passing peeps (both terrified and not) along the chains is a hair-raising experience. Incredible views throughout that last .7 mile chain walk and at the top. Chipmunk attack at peak...must have been a dozen or so.
What people tend to call the "Crux" (sheer 800 and 1200 foot drops on both sides) was not as bad as I expected (chains on both sides)...however, there we're some sections that were surprisingly hairy despite a wider path...
Adding to the difficulty, the trails were very slippery and sandy...we had a lot of rain the past few days...wondering if the trails are sandy/slippery like that year round.
FUN HIKE!! |
