I totally agree with gcrough. This hike is greatly underated and is worthy of at least 4 stars. I too began at Dow Springs TH and went south and camped out at an awesome spot at Sycamore Falls. (however no water running but pretty impressive no less)

I also can recommend Richard & Sherry Magnums'book - Flagstaff Hikes (I have a '97 copy but a more updated version is available) I also own Sedona Hikes by the same authours - a great resource!
