We saw the remains of the Copper Creek area, including Sibley Mansion, and then tried to find an rock house that was built into a cave in Redfield Canyon - without trespassing. We didn't find the latter, but upon consulting the maps and GPS data later, found that we were VERY close. Apparently there is another way in, but logic prevailed when we decided against going past the "no trespassing" sign, and decided to try it from a different direction.
There is some exploratory drilling occuring near Copper Creek, which continued through the night. It wasn't too close to our campsite, though, so sleep was possible.
This was the maiden voyage for my new-to-me Jeep - and she loved the rocky one-lane roads. |
