| no partners | | Due to an early morning brain fart about the start time I ended up hiking alone today. Driving out to the trailhead, the car's thermometer registered a bone chilling 28 degrees in the Tanque Verde loop/ Wentworth area at 0700.
Strangely enough I didn't see another person until I broke for lunch at the saddle.
I met a Park Service official and a volunteer placing and retrieving wildlife cameras in the area. They had captured images of black bears, bobcats, and turkeys. They went on to say the turkeys were reintroduced into the range some time ago, and that it appears they now have established a foothold in the area.
Absolutely a prefect weather day to do this hike. |
