This is a hike I have not done in years. The trail is well maintained and in fact quite heavily used since it is a popular hike and the main thoroughfare to many other trails. The question is why do I have such a heavy pack for a short one day hike. The answer is
A. I'm insane
B Equipment check for a larger future hike
The correct answer is probably a little of both.
