There were only two sort of rough spots on the 4x4 drive to the campsite above the spring. I wouldn't recommend driving past the campsite, as the road drops sharply to the spring and ends. I didn't do any hiking, since I planned on also driving up FR650 to the stone cabin in Wood Camp Canyon, then trying to drive FR342 from near there over to US60 near Oak Flat. It was to be a full day indeed!
