Initially, signs describing local flora dotted the trail, but as we got further along the snow became deeper and the signage (and footprints) tapered off. The cabin, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps around 1930, is well worth the trip. It's constructed of local limestone, and some really exciting fossil hash can be found in the foundation stones. The views of the valley below are pretty spectacular, too. |
