| no partners | | I don't know if I'm just happy to be getting out again, but I enjoyed this hike a lot more than I expected. It was sunny and warm, and the trails are mostly old wide jeep roads, but the scenery was pretty nice.
Took goldmine out from the visitors center trailhead to the northern trailhead. dynamite back, then san tan back to goldmine. Turned around, and took the San Tan to Moonlight.
Got back just as a ranger led night hike 'Scorpion Scavenger Hunt' was starting, so I said why not. I got to be the creepy loner hanging around a bunch of families. A nice event; the ranger did a good job, and it was cool to see the kids get excited over the scorpions.
This was a nice area. Very flat, and no off trail allowed, but very nice. Before I started the hike, I took a scenic drive (aka slightly lost) and checked out the Rock Peak Wash trailhead. Looks like an interesting area. |
