After waiting through this long hot summer to go hiking, my hiking buddy took vacation and we kicked it in to high gear this week and got in three hikes in seven days which has to be some sort of record for us. Oh, if only we never had to work from October through May! Anyhow, this hike really topped it off. The trail was easy to find, you can purchase the Red Rock Pass right there and your off! The views were outstanding. We loved the birds eye view of Sedona and the water in Oak Creek was cccooolllddd! Wish we weren't so wimpy and could have jumped in because the water looked deep, sparkling clean and inviting, but we totally chickened out. The hike was perfectly moderate and we only saw a few others on this Friday afternoon. Walking through the small burn area was interesting. Don't forget to check out the canyon just north of the parking lot, its pretty awesome, one huge slide rock, ha. |
