| no partners | | In a previous 4x4 life of mine, once a year I would travel from southern CA to Johnson Valley in central CA for the annual hardcore "Custom Rock Buggy 4x4 Competition". I was only a spectator for these annual events in Johnson Valley. This extreme sport is very technical requiring superior mechanical, electrical, fabrication, and driving skills for the guys (mostly all guys) who attempt this more extreme style of four wheeling usually having also custom build their vehicles.
I am very lucky to have a great auto mechanic friend who owns his own auto repair shop just down the street from where I live in South Scottsdale who is also the main reason I still own my heavily modified '92YJ Jeep Wrangler "Grasshopper" and am able to still keep it running and on the road. My friend Cary is also a very serious Rock Buggy 4x4 owner and participates actively in this sport via the 4x4 club he belongs to- B.T.G. (Built to Grind).
Cary has offered numerous times in the past few years to have me join him on one of his club runs (via me being a passenger riding in his Custom Toyota Tacoma Rock Buggy). This past Thanksgiving weekend-Saturday was a good time for me, so I gladly accepted his offer.. What a Rush It Was!!
