| no partners | | This past April, as we were traveling back to Minnesota, we passed several old and scenic abandoned structures alongside I-40 in Arizona and New Mexico. I mentioned to Pat that when we made our return trip that I wanted to stop and take some photos of some of the buildings.
That wish came true on Wednesday as we were making a rush trip down here to be present when out daughter gave birth to her second child. Just as we were entering New Mexico, we got a call informing us that the stork had beat us to the punch and she had just delivered a beautiful, healthy baby girl.
Well, the big rush was over now so we might as well enjoy the scenery and the remainder of the trip. A short distance past Tucumcari, NM we found the abandoned town of Cuervo with several structures standing after many years of neglect.
I only spent a half hour with the camera and tripod as we still wanted to make it off the Rim and down into the valley before dark. The photos were just a test to see how to process the photos and show them the way I visualize a Ghost Town I will definitely spend more time in Cuervo on future trips as there are more old structures in various stages of decomposing that I have yet to shoot. |
