| no partners | | Went down to Marana to spend time with mom & step-dad. They live next to Dove Mountain, in a non-rich retirement community. So, I planned a hike here on the way. Step sis Julie and her husband Dave were visiting, so Dave tagged along on the hike. He's a big time fisher / hunter -- "It's all I do" -- and, I found out, loves hiking as well. The non-wash parts of the loop, in the hills, are extremely well groomed. Great views, especially south and west. (I could easily identify the cement plant on I-8 at Tangerine Rd.) My step-dad told us there were petroglyphs / heiroglyphs up the the dry fall from the cabin ruins, but we never found them. Regardless, Dave was over the moon. He could not stop raving about how awesome his first desert hike was. So, I rate this hike a 5 for first time desert hikers.
