Alligator Spring Trail #9926

I had wanted to make a loop using Alligator Spring 9926 and a couple of off-trail canyons that appeared to have water. After the nearly 4 mile trail I dropped into Conger Canyon below South Mesa and quickly realized that the pace would be way slower than I had prepared for. Since I was solo and nobody knew where I was, I decided it was best to turn around and explore this canyon another time.

Before leaving however, I had to check out an area I had spotted on satellite and hoped to get to on my loop. Instead, I did a short trip in the reverse direction from the trailhead I started at.

It was the highlight of my day as I discovered a nice set of narrows with refreshing cool pools, and beautiful scenery. I took some time to cool off and relax before heading back to the truck. When I got back to camp, Tibber was there getting things set up, and Te-Wa arrived shortly after with a keg of delicious homebrew. :y:

	Plenty of (swimmable) pools here with a light flow over numerous cascades. It doesn't appear that this area ever dries out entirely, though the flow may stop during dry seasons.

	I didn't see the source of this spring, because the entire canyon had flowing water. It appears that there would be at least pools of water here even in dry seasons.
