| partners | | Bruce wanted to hike 18 miles. I convinced him that it's ok to hike only 10 miles in a day and still feel a sense of accomplishment.
Somehow it took us about 3 hours longer than planned and the part 2--afternoon plan had to be abandoned. It was nice to be home by sunset though.
The BSA Stradling Canyon trail is fun. Steep with some nice little climbs. But chock full of poison ivy, which is mostly unavoidable. So avoid it if that's a problem for you.
Our route off Milk Ranch Point can be improved upon. I think it might be better to push to the north in the lower half. It couldn't possibly be any steeper than where we went. The only good thing is that I have few complaints about fighting through a dense ... Maple forest.  |
