My return trip to Joshua Tree turned out to be a good one. I did the park solo, as my friend stayed behind in San Diego. I got to the park late and road cruised for snakes. I only saw 2. I then camped for the night and did a little morning herping to see how my sidewinders were doing. I saw 4 more sidewinders, and they all seem to be doing well. I also saw a patch-nosed snake, a snake that I've seen on the south end of Joshua Tree before, but never photographed. There are very few flowers out but lots of butterflies, which seems odd to me. They were more birds than usual too, but mostly sparrows and phainopeplas. Hopefully, the flowers were emerge next month when I plan to return again. :D
