| no partners | | I did a little exploring at Big Horn Peak. I combed the flats for snakes in the AM hours and then hit the mountain side. I didn't hike up to the top. That would be silly. I only ambulated around the base of the mountain.
In the AM hours, I saw one coachwhip, one leopard lizard, and one sidewinder. It was midday and I knew there were few snakes out, so I became to look for bighorn sheep. I normally don't look for bighorn sheep, except when I'm in Anza Borrego. I just stumble upon them. I didn't see any, so I began to look for tortoises. I only saw one.
Afterwards, I cruised the roads to look for snakes and saw a teenage mojave, a sidewinder, and 2 red phased longnosed snake within 5 minutes of each other. Both longnosed snakes looked identical, even in size. Not a bad day of exploring, but I felt that I should've seen more. |
