| no partners | | My wife and I had to leave for Houston on short notice, via car, driving 1200 miles straight through on Friday, 11/6. I ate a normal breakfast -- two slices of toast -- each day, but lunch and dinner were with my wife's family and the amount of food in any given meal was enough to cover a whole day's intake. It was overwhelming. I'm sure I put on weight. We took two days to drive back; on Monday, diverting onto 191 short of Willcox, to avoid extreme high winds. The color between Miami and Superior was awesome. I plan on hitting Telegraph Canyon on Friday for some photos.
50° and 55% humidity at 0925, when I started. 56° and 48% humidity when I returned. T-shirt was plenty. Perfect weather, though the humidity rating seems high ... Just got back from Weather Underground, which is reporting 35% humidity in Phoenix, which seems much more reasonable. Maybe the diff is due to using crappy back yard weather station (though temps seem pretty close); maybe it is because the weather station is immediately adjacent to our garden?
Despite lack of exercise -- other than a few sessions in the hotel gym -- I managed to make it over to, and up, North Mountain in good time, with no pauses. Just steady pace. I did not see Pushup Guy or Tire Girl. Rowdy either: I keep hoping to bump into him one of these days. |
