Lived in Phoenix for 36 years and have hiked all over but surprisingly never made it up to North Mountain until this morning. Only had about an hour to hike so I parked near the visitor center and started south down 100 to the summit trail. aka a road up the hill. Like the description says, this won't be on any favorite hikes list, but it was cool to finally check this one off. Will probably come back soon to do a N Mtn and Shaw Butte loop and a double bag.
