| no partners | | Got to TH around 9am. Wasn't as cold as forecasted. There is a get together of horse community with signs pointing to TH. Ran into huge group of stewards who are doing coyote canyon. As we all got to the scenic view point, we watched a mule deer collared by az game and fish. I have attended their session but didn't sign up to do the event. Volunteers have to stand in the same spot all day....I can't sit still for that long. I saw 2 other groups of volunteers spotting deer.
Then I ran into a huge group of hikers from Terravita. Enjoyed conversation with them. I was told by a steward that she spotted a bald eagle. I was looking for it but instead saw a red tailed.
Not much wildlife since lots of helicopters around. On the way back, met a few teams of new people. Luckily they all had maps with them. Gave them ideas about which trails to take based on their mileage interest. Overall felt like a city hike
BTW, I looked for wildflowers but sadly didn't see any. |
