Had a dog sitter lined up so we went to Tucson to hike instead. Went down on Tuesday and stayed on the East side of town and got up Wednesday at 5:30 AM to drive to Sabino Canyon and hike to the falls. Signage has been improved since my last hike here in 2010. On that trip is was...just follow Bear Canyon signs. This time many junctions along the way had signs for Seven Falls. There were about 50 cars in the parking lot at 7:10 AM compared to about 10 when was here in 2010. Just another example of the growing popularity of hiking. Not as busy on the trail as I expected as we saw about 3 small groups coming out and about 10 going in on our way out. Only a group of 3 when we got to the falls for a break. Not much water this time. Don't mind the 2 mile walk on the road to get to the TH going in, but on the way out....
Tried and liked the Cafe Poca Cosa for dinner. In the past we have always eaten at Guadalajara Grill. |
